Peer-reviewed work developed alongside the projects and, for the most part, out of them: doctoral research at the University of Alicante, postdoctoral research at HafenCity University Hamburg, and applied R+D at SPIN Unit, generally co-authored with the teams that carried out the underlying studies.

One concern runs through it — whether the qualitative propositions of urban theory can be made measurable without being flattened. Gehl's distinction between optional and necessary activity, the disputed edges of neighbourhoods, the concentration of symbolic capital in queer districts: each is restated as something countable in crowd-sourced data, then tested against it. The results appear in Environment and Planning B, Cities, Urban Studies, the Journal of Urban Technology and Sustainability, and increasingly pair social media analysis with morphometrics and agent-based models.
